Risking It All: Chapter 5 and 6

Michael Fraser — June 6, 2010

The historical book of Esther is one of the most intriguing and most controversial books of the Old Testament. It is both equally intriguing and controversial because of the absence of God's name but the providence of God is evident throughout the book. Perhaps for the former reason the book of Esther is rarely preached or taught in a Sunday morning context. The latter reason is why we are going to spend the next several weeks unpacking the sovereignty of God in the historical book of Esther. We are convinced that even though the events of Esther took place over 2500 years ago, it gives us relevant truths about God. Over the next weeks, may we commit to understanding the nature and essence of God's sovereignty in our lives in 2010.
